What is ElevenLabs?
Text to speech that does not sound like a satnav, plus voice cloning and dubbing into other languages. Founded in London, and one of the genuine UK AI success stories a small business might actually buy.
The obvious business use is not creative. It is the boring recorded audio every company needs and nobody wants to book a studio for: hold messages, phone menus, module narration for training that changes twice a year.
Cloning a voice — including your own colleague’s — needs their explicit, informed agreement. Under UK data protection a voice is biometric-adjacent personal data, and “they said it was fine” in a meeting is not the record you want if it is ever questioned.
