What is Grain?
Records calls and scores them against what good looks like, so a manager can coach from evidence rather than memory. The analytics are the product; the transcription is table stakes.
Recording calls to coach people is a different activity from recording calls to remember them, and it needs saying out loud to the people being recorded. Scored calls are performance data about your staff, which brings employment and data-protection questions that a note-taking tool does not.
What does Grain cost in the UK?
From $19 per user per month.
Does Grain train AI models on your data?
Vendor does not publish it
Read Grain's privacy policy on 30 August 2026. It does not mention model training at all. For a tool that records and scores sales calls, that is a gap worth raising before you switch it on.

What do people use Grain for?
- Show a new rep what a good discovery call sounds like
- Spot which objections keep killing deals
- Review a pipeline without sitting in every call
What does Grain connect to?
- Zoom
- Google Meet
- Microsoft Teams
- HubSpot
- Salesforce
- Slack
Where does Grain fall short?
- Overkill and overpriced for a solo operator — the value is entirely in comparing people
- Priced in US dollars
- Rep-scoring features need a conversation with your team before you switch them on
Who is Grain for?
A good fit for
- Sales managers
- Teams of three or more reps
Not for
- Teams of fewer than three reps — the whole value is comparing people
- Businesses unwilling to tell staff their calls are being scored, which is performance data about employees
The Torus verdict on Grain
Only worth it once you have enough reps to compare. Below three, a cheaper recorder does everything you will use.
